Developing, verifying and validating highly goal oriented simulation tools;
Integrating with multi-objective optimization, analysis and visualization of the entire product design space;
Experimentally validating and testing new designs and system assemblies; and,
Establishing long-term collaboration with select customers so that we thoroughly understand their research needs and can be most productive in minimizing the time to market for new designs.
OTS is looking for a full-time technician to assist with experimental set up and assembly of HVAC and refrigeration systems. Projects may range from testing and analyzing customer-specific existing components, modified system assemblies, or newly developed designs.
Core Responsibilities will include:
Build and troubleshoot HVAC&R system components and assemblies such as heat pumps, air conditioners, beverage coolers, and heat exchangers.
Assist team engineers with experimental set up.
Build and program experimental DAQ and controls.
Provide assistance with electrical wiring, plumbing, machining, and carpentry needs.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with HVAC&R systems including hands on training and/or work is required
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and carpentry is a plus
Ability to follow controls/wiring diagrams and schematics.
Experience with experimental research is requested, but not required.
Working knowledge of LabVIEW DAQ software is requested, but not required.
HVAC and/or EPA certification required.
